Voice Dictation – Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 31, 2026

Voice Dictation ("the extension") is a browser extension that turns your speech into text in the text field you are using. This policy explains what data is handled and why. We do not sell data, use it for advertising, or use it to determine creditworthiness.

1. Page access, speech and text

The extension has no access to websites until you start dictation with the toolbar icon or keyboard shortcut; it then runs only in that tab to insert your text.

Speech recognition is performed by your browser's built-in Web Speech API (or the browser's on-device speech model when available). Depending on your browser and settings, your browser vendor (for example Google, for Chrome) may process the audio on its servers under its own privacy policy. We never receive, store, or transmit your audio or the text you dictate. Optional punctuation clean-up runs locally in the extension (rule-based, or the browser's on-device AI model when available).

2. Data we store on our licensing server

3. Service providers

4. Settings

Your language and mode settings are stored locally in Chrome storage and never sent to us.

5. Retention and deletion

Licensing records are kept while the extension is used or a subscription exists. To delete your data, email support@addsum.top with your checkout email; we will delete it within 30 days. Cancel your subscription anytime via the link in your Stripe receipt.

6. Children

The extension is not directed to children under 13.

7. Changes and contact

We will update this page if practices change. Questions: support@addsum.top.
